It has been a long time since I have posted anything to my wall again! My little girl is keeping me very busy and Christmas was pretty hectic. It is only January but I am getting busier than ever.
I was so happy to take pictures of D's family in Kentfield last Sunday mainly because I took pictures of her little girl when she was a baby. Since then she also has a little boy H. I have so many favorite photos from their session! Here is a sneak peak! Enjoy!

2 years ago when I was pregnant with my little girl I had maternity photos taken too and I was eager to shoot one in the near future. Luckily I met Jessica who was ready to be my model. Jennifer's family portrait session at St.Vincent's school in San Rafael

Luckily just a week after Easter I had a chance to photograph Jennifer and her adorable family in a beautiful setting at St. Vincent's school. The campus has gorgeous iron gates, stairs, columns etc. Thanks for my photographer friend, Dennis Urbiztondo this location is going to be my favorite one from now on. And what made their session so special was their two darling daughters, Kyle and Lacy. Their love for each other was very obvious. Kyle kept hugging and kissing her little sister and Lacy did the same too. I had the best time ever with them and I hope that they did too!!

Ann and Tom's engagement session at China Beach in San Francisco

Ann and Tom's wedding is on the 11th of July of this year. The beach is a very special place for the both of them because Tom proposed to Ann there. Unfortunately I won't be able to photograph their wedding due to my baby's arrival but at least I had a chance to take their engagement photos. They are a very fun loving couple and we really had a great time during the session!

Carey and Nick's wedding took place at the Saint Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church in Palo Alto. They had a very lovely wedding ceremony following a small reception at the Old Adobe Building in Mountain View. Carey looked gorgeous in her wedding gown and Nick could not be happier to marry to the love of his life. Their wedding was very colorful and classic. They are enjoying Hawaii at this moment!!! And I have promised Carey that I will put some photos to my blog while she and Nick are on their honeymoon!

Spencer's portrait session

I have been so lucky lately! Taking pictures of children is very rewarding and an excellent break from wedding photography. As Christmas is approaching more and more people need their family picture taken and of course they would like to have tons of pictures of their children too. Last Sunday I have photographed Diane and her family in their lovely home in Fairfax. Luckily the sun came out and we were able to start the photo session outside. Their 5 months old son Spencer was very happy and curious during the whole session. He did not care with the camera and I don't think that he even noticed that I was a stranger. I had a great time with them and I hope that these photos are going to tell the story of their portrait session.

East Bay Mommies Fall photo session

My friend Krista has asked me if I could take pictures of 9 16 months old including her child. I was delighted!! I knew that it is going to be challenging to get some good photos of the children in 2 hours but I think that everyone had fun! The adorable toddlers look pretty relaxed and comfortable with me during the whole time. I also would like to thank to all of the parents who helped me to entertain the children while I was taking pictures of them. I could have not done it without their help. I have many favorites and like always I had a hard time to pick some out!

Meredith and Adam's wedding

Meredith and Adam's wedding was the icing on the cake for this year's wedding season! Such an elegant, stylish and unique wedding. Meredith has Scottish roots and because of that Adam and his groomsmen were wearing kilts. I started taking pictures of Meredith at the Orchard Hotel in SF and from there we headed over to the Yerba Buena Center. The bridal party among with the couple got tons of attention from tourists. From here we took the limousine again to the SF City Club where Meredith and Adam's wedding ceremony and reception took place. SF City Club is one of the most beautiful venues I have ever photographed.

My dear friend La Tanyua has asked me to take pictures of her for her website. She told me that she prefers a place with flowers or a waterfall since it complements the most what she does. She started her own business, Divine Glory, a few years back and among her services she does videography, creates obituaries and funeral programs. La Tanyua's portrait session took place at Joaquin Miller Park in Oakland on a beautiful sunny afternoon. Her outfit and amazing make up really helped me to bring the maximum out of her. Bekah and Angel's wedding reception 09.27.08

Bekah and Angel's wedding reception location was in Fairfield last Saturday. The house where their wedding took place was stunning. Actually this place is every photographer's dream. The Mediterranean style house had tons of windows and natural light. When I arrived the ladies just finished cooking and they were ready to change their clothes. Bekah was wearing a cute white dress with matching jewelry and her bridesmaids' dresses were coral. They have met at work. Bekah teaches ESL and Angel teaches history. Angel has Mexican roots so it was not a surprise that they had a real Mariachi band to play those Mexican tunes!! They really knew how to keep the mood up!!

Elina and Dave's wedding

Elina and Dave's wedding took place in Milpitas at the Summit Pointe Golf course. This golf course is one of the most beautiful one I have ever seen. The lake, the hill and the tall trees give a very romantic setting for a wedding. Elina and Dave got married just a few feet away from the lake. Their setting was spectacular. After their wedding we had over to the Golfland to take some fun shoots of them and their wedding party. I wish we had more time to play some serious mini golf. I am just kidding!! When we all had enough fun we had over to the Mayflower Chinese Restaurant where Elina and Dave had their wedding reception.

Lara and Chris's wedding

I have had one of the best weddings of this year! Chris and Lara's wedding took place on many different locations. Chris and his groomsmen started getting ready close to Ocean Beach in San Francisco. After that we headed over to Kelly's'Cove for some fun shoots of the guys. This place is really special for them, since they are big surfers. From here we visited the Cliff House for some drinks. The boys started celebrating with some Mimosas. Not soon after we headed over to the Chapel of our Lady at the Presidio for some family photos. In the meantime the bride, Lara arrived; although Chris did not see her until the ceremony. I took some pictures of Lara before the ceremony and I could not wait to see the two of them tying the knot. And just before we headed over to the Golden Gate Yacht Club where their wedding reception was held we stopped at Lyon Street for some photos of the two of them. Additional to myself, there were 2 more photographers helping me to cover Lara and Chris's wedding day. Here are some of my favorites of the day!

Elina and Dave's wedding is less than a month away. They are a very fun loving couple. Their engagement session took place at China Beach in San Francisco. They have brought their dog Stache along to the session. Since they like to have fun I decided to let them use one of my cameras. Sonnet and William's wedding

I photographed my first Cambodian wedding last weekend in Novato. Sonnet and William had their wedding ceremony on Friday and their reception on Saturday. They are a very sweet couple and I could have not been happier to make their wedding day unforgettable with beautiful photos. Amy and Rohit's wedding 06.28.08

Amy and Rohit's wedding took place at Cafe De La Paz in Berkeley. They had an outside ceremony following their wedding reception inside. Their wedding was the most colorful wedding I have ever been. Amy was wearing a traditional Indian wedding dress in dusty rose color and Rohit was wearing a black tuxedo. They could not have picked a better location. Cafe De La Paz has a beautiful interior and the walls have a nice orange color which matched perfectly with the napkins, tablecloth and with Amy's stunning dress. It was Amy who picked the colors out for the tables etc. I have a feeling that she should change profession. She is a teacher but she definitely has an eye for beauty. Amy and Rohit are enjoying their honeymoon in Mexico at this moment and I could not wait to share some photos with them. Last Saturday was just a perfect day to get married for Kristin and Adam. They had their ceremony in San Lorenzo at Saint John's church and their reception took place in Castro Valley at the Willow Park golf course! I started out taking pictures of Kristin in her home. She was helped to get dressed by her bridesmaids and her Mom. She has a lovely family and her house was full of laughter and music! Kristin could not wait to tie the knot with Adam! Boryana and David's wedding 06.07.08

Boryana and David's wedding took place at the Berkeley Rose Garden following with a reception at the Hillside Community Church in El Cerrrito. They had a very lovely ceremony which was performed by David's brother Bob. Boryana is from Bulgaria and her parents flew to California to celebrate with their daughter. As a matter of fact the couple had a traditional wedding earlier in May in Bulgaria. This time the couple had many family members and friends to celebrate their happiness together. Boryana's dress came from Bulgaria and it had many decorations, including pearls. She was so gorgeous! It was hot at the garden but we managed to get some shade when we had a chance! All the roses were blooming and the rose scent filled up the air! It was very romantic! It reminded me of when my husband proposed to me on the bridge in the same garden!

Bobbie and Henry's wedding took place in their nice home in Oakland. Luckily the weather was sunny and warm even though the weather forecast said otherwise. The ceremony took place outside and our couple were surrounded with family members and friends. Bobbie and Henry are raising three children together who could not be happier to see their parents tie the knot. My niece, Jade got accepted by a Modeling Agency in San Diego

I have got great news today! I have taken some photos of Jade back in January - she was only 3 months old - on our visit to San Diego and Jade's Mom, Tracie has decided to send some photos to a modeling agency and not surprisingly she got accepted. They don't know when her first audition is going to be but they are very excited about the opportunity. When I took pictures of Jade, she kept looking into my camera and she has given me different expressions. She is soooooo sweet and friendly to everyone! I believe that she is going to do well on her first audition.

Congratulations, Jade!!! I think you are the youngest model I have ever met with.

High school senior photo session with Jess

Wow! I had such a fun shoot with Jess yesterday! She came to SF from Sacramento and the portrait session took place at the Palace of Fine Arts in the city. Although the place was full of tourists I think we have managed to get some great photos. Jess is only 18 years old but I think she looks very mature on the photos. I hope that I was able to emphasize her pretty eyes and nice facial structure with the different poses and lighting. The session started out as a high school senior portrait session but I think it turned into some fashion looking photography.

Summary of my first Bridal Fair at the Brazilian Room

WOW! I can't believe that I was able to put everything together for the show within a few weeks. I feel that it was a great success!! I think that my booth had an elegant look and having a 16x20 print on an easel made a huge difference in the display of my booth. Many people came to me with questions and they all checked my Magazine Style Wedding album and engagement album out. I felt that they liked my work and who knows they might want to hire me to their wedding. But I felt that the most rewarding thing was to contact other vendors before the Bridal Fair. My first Bridal Show is coming up!!

I can't believe that I will have my first Bridal Show ever. This particular show is going to take place at the Brazilian Room in Berkeley and it is on the 29th of January. I have been preparing to the show in the last one week and I have so much to do still. I am very excited about this!!! I have also purchased my first official business suit to this event! I try to not spend to much, of course but I really would like my show to be nearly perfect. Anyway, January is looking pretty good so far. I have received 3 inquires within a week and I had my first client meeting last Saturday!!

My official website is Photos by Anita and I am planning to come up with different discounts, specials in each months. In January for example I have a special offer on children photography. It has been a very exciting year for me. I have met with wonderful people like Gina DePaulo, who was the florist for Elaine and Doug's wedding and April Tavin, the wedding coordinator for Millie and Kurt's wedding. I have also gotten lots of inspiration from other photographers at the WPPI Convention in Las Vegas. I would like to thank all of my clients for the opportunity they gave me to shoot their weddings. I also would like to say thanks to Collages, the company I use to put together the on line photo gallery for my clients. Maya and Dylan's photos

Finally I had a chance to take pictures of my friend's children. They were just adorable. Maya is 4 and half years old and Dylan 8 months old. I just love the little hands, ears, eyelashes and the surprised face of Dylan. The last time she has seen a camera in my hands she was only 3 weeks old. Maya is a great sister. She just couldn't stop touching and kissing Dylan. I definitely had a great time with them. Enjoy the photos. Any comment is welcome!!!!

Logo for my business

Finally I have received my logo a few days ago. And I LOVE IT!!!!

Every time when I attend to a photo seminar the speaker talks about how important to get your own company logo. In the last 6 months I have been trying to figure out how my company logo should look like. My husband made some drawings but none of the drawings looked the right to me. But a week ago while I was ordering some new business cards from a company I found some cool designs and I decided to purchase a logo from them. Additional to the logo and business cards I also ordered some magnets, pens, note pads with my logo on it. I am still waiting for the promotional material to arrive but I am pretty sure that it is going to look great. I am hoping that having a logo is going to separate my photography business from others. I feel like giving a new identity to my business. Here I am sharing my logo to my blog viewers and I welcome any opinion on it. Have a nice weekend for everyone.

Minei's family photos

It is so nice to be back. It is so great to shoot again. Last week I helped my friend on a wedding in Woodside. And yesterday I had a chance to take pictures of Minei's family. The portrait session took place at The Japanese Friendship Garden in San Jose. This park has beautiful trees, bridges, rocks, fish in the shallow lake and some palm trees too. Minei picked the location and she couldn't pick a better place than this garden. The weather was gorgeous and Minei's family was amazing. They were very flexible and they eased up very fast. What should I say? It was one of the best portrait session of this year. I believe that the photos will show how much fun we had. Any comment is welcome!! Enjoy!!

Vacation in Hungary and in France

I just got back from Europe a few days ago and I couldn't wait to share my adventure with my blog viewers. As some of you might know I am Hungarian who lives in the States for almost 6 years now. It is not easy to be so far away from my loved ones but luckily I can visit them from time to time. Me and my husband have spent almost 3 weeks in Europe. We have visited my parents who live in a big city close to Budapest and we stayed in their apartment for a while and from there we have explored Hungary. We have been in Szekeshehervar, Visegrad, Szentendre, Hortobagy, Debrecen, Pakozd, Sukoro etc. And if I don't stop my husband we would have gone to Austria too. Due to my husband huge interest in history he had visited different Aquinqums too. While he was checking out ruins I was meeting with my friends from college, elementary school etc. My family was delighted to see us and we have also celebrated my brother's daughter's 18th birthday and later on we ended up in a club with my niece, her boyfriend and their friends. As a present to my niece,Niki I have taken pictures of her and her boyfriend in my hometown at the Bory-castle. Niki was so excited the day before the photo shoot that she couldn't sleep but I hope that it doesn't show on the photos. I am including some of the photos at the end of this letter.

We were sad to leave Hungary but we have booked a hotel in Paris where we have spent 3 days It was like a honeymoon!!! Paris is an amazing city with its art museums, French cousins, sculptures. Me and my husband have visited the Eiffel tower and part of the Louvre. We have promised to ourselves that we will come back when we have a chance because there is so much more to see.

Now we are both back to work and I can't wait to start scheduling families to a Holiday portrait session as well as weddings to the next year.

Susannah and Mike's wedding 08.25.07 at Brookdale Lodge

Last Saturday I photographed a wedding at Brookdale Inn & Spa. The Lodge is located in the San Leandro Valley among huge pine trees with a brook going through it. The building has a rustic look with a log house, bridge and stain glass window. The lodge is known for its ghost stories. Susannah and Mike's wedding was the second wedding this year which I have photographed at the Lodge. I am hoping to go back next year too!!! The weather was gorgeous and luckily everything went well even though a house caught on fire just a few houses down from the Lodge. As focused as I get on weddings I didn't pay any attention to the fire trucks and I kept shooting outside until I was unable to continue due to the smoke around us. Anyway, I think that I was able to capture some nice moments of their wedding and now I am ready to share it with everyone. Actually Susannah and Mike's wedding was the funniest wedding I have ever been to. They are very laid back and love having fun as it shows on the last photo where Susannah and Mike decided to DJ a little bit (Mike does this professionally while Susannah tried her hand at it). Josephine's birthday photos

Happy Birthday Josephine!!! A couple of weeks ago I have received an e-mail from Beth who is Josephine's aunt. She said that she would like me to take some pictures of her niece who just turned one. The only thing that she didn't tell me was that Josephine a very pretty little girl with vibrant blue eyes. The portrait session took place in Piedmont at Piedmont Park. I have chosen this place because I knew that the fountain, flowers, trees, stairs, brick wall and play ground with swing would be a perfect place to photograph a child. Josephine just started walking recently and she was ready to explore the whole park. I have learned that she is a very independent girl and I just went with the flow. It was challenging to go after her but I think that I was able to capture the real Josephine.

Brisa and Pablo's wedding 08.03.07

I have been trying to find some time to put some photos up to my blog whole week but I haven't had a chance to do it until today. Last Friday Brisa and Pablo tied the knot on the Commodore Galaxy in Alameda. Their wedding was small but very romantic. Mainly when we left the harbor and we saw the city lights of San Francisco as well as the Bay Bridge etc. They couldn't pick a better place to get married. Brisa was full of excitement while she was getting ready and her Mom was full of joy to see her daughter on her very special day. There was lots of sunshine and some wind at the harbor but it didn't interrupt the short ceremony which took place on the yacht. Since I don't speak Spanish it was challenging for me to listen to the ceremony and figure out what is going to happen next. Their parents from each side shared their thoughts on Brisa and Pablo's commitment and they also welcomed them in each other's family. After the ceremony I had some time to take some photos of them in front of the yacht and on the yacht too. I think I got some nice photos. If anyone has any thought about the photos I would love to hear about it.

Today I am going to Piedmont to take some pictures of a little girl. Please feel free to check back for some photos from that portrait session too.

Emma and Max's portrait session 07.19.07

Yesterday I had a portrait session at Piedmont Park in Piedmont. It was very hot but the big giant trees and bushes gave us some shade there. Emma and Max are the children of one of my friend. Emma is a very cheerful girl and she kept saying "Cheese" to the camera. Max is much more serious but he definitely eased up to the end of the session. Emma and Max are very attached to their dogs so it was obvious to get some photos of the dogs with the children too. Emma's dog is called Olga and Max's dog is called Boris. They are very energetic dogs but they managed to stay with the children during the session. It was definitely a fun afternoon!! Enjoy the photos!!

Ileana and Victor's wedding 07.14.07.

I have photographed one of the most energetic wedding of the season last Saturday. The bride, Ileana got ready at her parents' 's home. Here I had a chance to take Ileana outside and get some stunning pictures of her.
Not soon after Ileana and Victor tied the knot at Our Lady of Lorretto Catholic Church in Novato. Following that we had over to the Pond in San Rafael with the couple and the wedding party where we had some fun time around the pond. The wedding party was ready to do anything but we didn't have too much time here so we headed over to the reception site which took place at The Four Point Sheraton in the same town. I spent the cocktail hour with taking more pictures of the bridesmaids, groomsmen and of course with the couple around the pool. Their energy got me going to and seeing them dancing to the Latin rhythms during the reception made me feel in my 20's again. The interesting thing was that Ileana is from Nicaragua and during the Father and Daughter dance they danced "Palo de Mayo which is a traditional dance in the Nicaragua. I have learned something again. Weddings are fun!! I feel myself like a cosmopolitan.

I hope that the photos wil show how much fun we had and also the unconditional love between Ileana and Victor. I wish a lots of happiness to you again!!! And enjoy the photos!!

Brisa and Pablo's engagement 07.09.07

I couldn't wait to share my first pictures on my new blog. I shoot an engagement session in Santa Clara at the garden of the Church of our Lady of Peace yesterday. Brisa and Pablo are a very young couple but they are so in LOVE. I had a very fun time with them and I hope that they did too. I had a hard time to pick the ones which I liked because I love all the photos.
